Building the Academic Program for 2013-2014

The links in Dr. Reimann's message about next year's Master Schedule have been fixed in the copy below:

The DVHS Academic Boosters need your support to fulfill their commitment to fund 11 classes at DVHS next year. The funding that we receive from Academic Boosters is used to support the core instructional program, as well as programs that go beyond the basic academic schedule.

Currently, the school administration is working with counselors to complete the master schedule of classes for next year. The process of creating a schedule for your students begins with looking at our students' course requests and then comparing the number of requests with number of teachers that the district and other funding sources have provided to our school. Based on these two pieces of information, we decide what courses can be offered and the number of sections that will be offered for each course. The more funding that we receive for sections, the wider the variety of classes  we can offer and the smaller class sizes will be. Students who take seven period days for music or other courses also depend on this additional funding.

For the 2013-2014 school year, the DVHS Academic Boosters have committed to adding 11 course sections to the DVHS schedule. In order to meet this commitment, the Academic Boosters will need your support. If the boosters are not able to raise the necessary funds, then some courses may need to be removed, students who take seven periods could be reduced to six period days and class sizes could be increased.

Donations to the Academic Boosters, and other boosters groups, may be made by visiting our school website, clicking the parent tab and selecting booster groups.

As always, we appreciate your commitment to our students and school. We look forward to working together to create the best program possible. Go Wildcats!

Best regards,

Jason Reimann

Principal

Report cards will no longer be mailed home!

Now that parents have access to our student information system (Infinite Campus) via the Parent Portal, the district has decided to discontinue mailing out report cards.  Parents will need to create a Parent Portal account if they have not already done so.  Once they create an account and log in, they will be able to view and print their student's report cards.

Please follow the procedures outlined below to create your Parent Portal Account prior to the end of the school year.

Two Reasons to Register on Parent Portal

  1. Access to Parent Portal is required to register your student for the 2013-2014 school year.
  2. Semester Report Cards will no longer be mailed home.
  • To access the parent portal, click here.
  • Please click here for detailed instructions on creating a portal account.
  • If you are new to the district or have not received an activation key for the parent portal, send an email to: PortalHelp@srvusd.net.

More details and specific instruction for On-site registration (Wildcat Days) will be forthcoming.
