This year on Friday, April 27th, is Day of Silence, a national student-led event where people take a vow of silence to emphasize the silence and erasure of LGBTQ+ students, and show our support for them.

Learn more about the Day of Silence. Students may sign up for Day of Silence!

Students are invited before school on 4/27, to come to Gardiner's room 3213 for information cards (which will tell people why you're being silent), tape to put over your mouth (optional), and Day of Silence pins that cost $2 each.

A section in the Commons will be reserved for participants to eat lunch together in silence. There will be another station to reapply tape and get more materials. Students will meet after school in front of the quad and yell together at a countdown to "break the silence." Then there will be a debrief meeting in the Commons from 3:15-4:15. Students will have the opportunity to talk about their experiences throughout the day and discuss solutions to combating LGBTQ+ erasure. There will be food and drinks provided.
