DVHS PTSA needs you!

Dear Wildcat Families,

 

I am so proud and honored to work with a group of amazing parents, students and staff on the PTSA board as President.

DVHS PTSA strives to support and speak on behalf of all children and youth in our school and in our community. We promote opportunities for parents to address the needs of the diverse group of high school students and we foster a positive partnership between parents, teachers, students and the community. We believe that our distinctive heritages, beliefs, and choices of expression help define us as individuals, and that our commitment to learning about one another and the larger world unites us as a community.

 

Why Join DVHS PTSA?

 

DVHS PTSA provides or participates in the following programs/services. Below are some of the achievements from last year. All of the below is only possible with an engaging parent community, generous donations and your yearly memberships. Please become a member and help us continue to provide the PTSA programs.

  • Teacher Grants; up to $5000 (helps with needs of classroom).
  • Senior Scholarship; approx $5000 for graduating students, recognition and community leadership.
  • Funded the picnic; tables costed $5500 to help accommodate more students during lunch.
  • Supported WASC expenses.
  • Multiple Guest Speakers to educate parents and students

Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Counselor, DVHS College and Career Counselor, College Counselor/Test Prep Counselor, College application readers/local agents, Teen Esteem, DVHS Traffic Coordinator, DVHS Teachers, Department heads, Students etc.

  • Multicultural Luncheon for Teachers.
  • Hosted College Night/Junior Writing Workshop.
  • Sister School Programs to help underprivileged schools in need.
  • Online Newsletter (keeps parents informed of school activities and deadlines).
  • Health and Wellness (creates a safe, healthy school campus and traffic safety).
  • Inclusion and Diversity (provides welcoming and inclusive school community programs).
  • Reflections Arts Program (encourages students to participate in national arts program).
  • Legislative advocacy (advocate for our students; keep our parents and students informed about current educational and legislative issues).
  • Red Ribbon Week (creating awareness of drug free campus).
  • SRVEF Run for education.
  • Serve as a liaison to San Ramon Valley Council of PTA’s and San Ramon Valley Unified School District;
  • Create annual Student Directory.
  • Collaborates with teachers, departments, staff, students and DV community to meet the needs of the school community.

To become a PTSA member or to donate or order a directory, visit the DVHS Webstore and select "DVHS PTSA" under the "Browse" pulldown menu. For insurance purposes, an annual PTA waiver is required to participate in any PTA-sponsored event that may take place throughout the school year. Please complete the PTSA Waiver during online registration.
