student parking permit + start smart driving course

A new Parking Permit must be purchased each school year in order to park in any of the school’s parking lots.  The cost this year is $95. Click this link to begin the process of purchasing a Parking Permit.  SRVUSD students and their parent or guardian must attend a free two-hour California Highway Patrol Start Smart traffic safety class to be eligible for to purchase a student parking permit.

Start Smart provides an opportunity for teens and their parents/guardians to discuss the serious laws, obligations, responsibilities, and family expectations that are part of driving a vehicle. At this class, California Highway Patrol officers will discuss traffic avoidance techniques, collision causing factors, driver/parent responsibilities, and seat belt usage. The goal is to promote and create safe driving habits around SRVUSD schools.

Classes will begin this school year for parking pass eligibility in the 2018-19 school year. All SRVUSD comprehensive high schools will offer several free classes each year that are open to anyone. Classes are also scheduled at area CHP facilities in Hayward and Sunol (see www.chp-bayarea.eventbrite.com for listings).  The class must only be taken once during a student’s high school career. Upon attending the class, students will receive a certificate of completion. Students and their parent or guardian will need to sign-in at the class. This list will be provided to the school sites for verification.
