2021 dvhs ptsa senior scholarship applications! due April 16, 2021!

DVHS PTSA is proud to announce that our Annual Senior Scholarship Application window is now open. All applications are due no later than April 16, 2021. The 2020-2021 DVHS PTSA Scholarship Applications are open for college or trade-school bound Dougherty Valley High School seniors, graduating class of 2021.


Note that to be eligible to apply for a PTSA scholarship award, the student must be a DVHS PTSA
member in good standing when the application is made. If you signed up for a membership after July
1, 2020, your membership is current. If you are not a member, you MUST sign-up before applying.

Applications Due:  Friday, April 16, 2021.
(Multiple Scholarships Available for College or Trade School-bound Students)

Since PTSA is an organization of volunteer leaders, we are interested in learning about activities
that demonstrate your leadership spirit. This "Spirit of Leadership" can be from your experience at your school, 
service or other organization, your work, community, or place of worship.

1. DVHS graduating current senior student (Class of 2021);
2. Attending a college, university, or trade school beginning in the fall of 2021 or spring of 2022;
3. Has a minimum unweighted cumulative GPA (as of the end of the Fall 2020 Semester) of 3.0 or above;
4. Is a current PTSA member as of the date of submission of the application; and
5. Submits a completed application by April 16 at 5pm by email or google application form.

❐ Typed Application (submitted using google form or sent by email to;
❐ Most Recent Transcript (final transcript for Fall of 2020);
❐ Proof of Student PTSA Membership (as of any time from July 1, 2020, to the date of scholarship
application submission);
❐ Essay; and
❐ Two Letters of Reference emailed from reference to no later than April 16,
2021. One letter must be from a non-DVHS community member (e.g., service organization,
scouts, employer, internship supervisor, ROP leader, place of worship) from familiar
with the applicant's leadership spirit.

In no more than 1000 words (which should be separately typed and attached to the application), focus on
one activity and elaborate on why it is important. For example, how has this activity benefited
you or others, how have you made a difference in a club or organization, or what effect has your service
had on your own life.

The student applicant must be a current DVHS PTSA member in good standing. If you become a
member anytime after July 1, 2020, and are in good standing, you qualify as a member. Attach proof of
membership showing the applicant (not the parent) became a member by the time application was

Applications submitted without proof of membership will be deemed incomplete and not considered if they are not complete by the April 16, 2021 deadline. If unsure of your membership status, log in to the DVHS Webstore (if your parent took care of things, ask them to log in to the webstore), and click on “my account,” which will provide an order history).
