Winter Sports Athletic Packet - DUE BY NOV. 3RD

Planning on playing a winter sport?? (Basketball, Soccer or Wrestling)  Winter Sports Packets are due Monday November 3rd.  You must have all paperwork completed and turned into Mrs. Oslund or Mrs. Thomas and have a yellow clearance form in order to tryout on Monday November 10th.

Did you play a fall sport?  Complete the returning athlete packet - save some trees. :)

Thank you to DVHS Leadership

A huge shout out to the DVHS Leadership Class for putting on an AMAZING show for Homecoming last week.  DVHS has come a long way this year with our new inflatable Wildcat run threw (thank you Athletic Boosters and ASB for that purchase), our band and the Fireworks display at half time (thank you ASB).  I was so proud of all the students for working so hard on the hallways. the floats, and the festivities!

For those of you in the stands thinking that athletics is using donation money's to cover the cost of these items, you are mistaken.  This is rather an example of the student leadership on this campus making the 'high school' experience wonderful for their DVHS peers.

We look forward to seeing you all at the game on Thursday October 30th against Dublin - our cross town rivals.

Go Wildcats!

IMPORTANT: New SRVUSD Volunteer Requirements

SRVUSD is implementing a new system for all adults who wish to volunteer on a school campus or drive/chaperone day and overnight field trips and athletic events. This new Volunteer Management System features a web-based software application that allows the District and all schools to better track and provide the appropriate level of clearance for school volunteers.

ALL adult volunteers will need to go through this new process. The District will NOT be asking parents to incur any of the costs associated with these clearance processes. For more information, and to begin the application process, click here (http://www.srvusd.net/parents/volunteers).

High school athletics in the San Ramon Valley Unified School district cannot function without your support. High schools do not receive district (tax dollar) funds for equipment, uniforms, transportation, and most coaching stipends. As such, participation donations are solicited to fund these valuable programs. Without your generous donations, sports at Dougherty Valley High School cannot be offered. High school sports cost much less than outside club sports and we appreciate your help in keeping our Wildcat teams afloat.

Participation Donations (defined)

Donations are used to cover the major operating costs of our athletic budget including officials, equipment, possible athletic trainers, supervision/security, facilities, first aid supplies, CIF dues, NCS dues & league fees and more. The suggested donation will be detailed in a specific sport budget presented to parents at an orientation meeting after teams have been finalized. Your athletic donation is tax deductible and goes directly to the sport your child is participating in, and is a direct benefit to your child

Although the athletic programs can only survive through parent donations, an individual’s participation on a team is not dependent on financial donations. We encourage all interested students to try out for athletic teams.

Donations can be made online via the DVHS web store by going to www.dvhigh.net and linking to the ‘webstore’.  You may also donate by bringing a check to the bookkeeper in the administration building. Payment options are available, please see Peggy Thomas our book keeper for more information.

Please Make Checks Payable to:  DVHS ATHLETICS (NAME OF SPORT)

Tryout dates, times and locations will be posted on the Athletics webpage under the Fall sports section.  Please contact coaches directly with questions about tryouts for their specific sports.
